<<Brad - what is your budget? Just asking because B&H has a JVC miniDV /
S-VHS combo unit with DV input/output for $739.>>
---I think that's the unit I have (havent checked the B and H site yet!)
If it's the JVC SR-VS30U, dont pay any attention to the bad reviews
please....
I have had this machine for over two years, it gets slammed around for about
seven to ten hours a day five days a week and it has not shown a bit of
trouble.
XP recognizes it as a capture/record/playback device and the bonus is that
you can also feed your SVHS/VHS tapes via FireWire.
So the short and long of it is that you get two FireWire enabled NLE
certified decks that can be controlled from within the majority of NLE
software programs and you even get a tuner that will pipeline into your
capture program to boot.
It's really a bitchin little machine.....I cant say anything bad about it.
