As a non-AE user there's only one reason I'm responding to your post, Lee,
and that is something I saw at the Adobe demo I took in Monday past. The
presenter, working in the current Video Collection (PPro and AE Pro) wowed
the crowd by exporting multiple audio and video tracks directly into AE,
where they obligingly laid out as a mirror image of themselves in PPro.
Asked if all of the effects already in place (like colour correction) moved
with the source data, he was unsure. He thought most did but couldn't
identify which would and which would not. He was sure, however, that the
only way back to Premiere Pro was by export to DV AVI once AE had done its
thing. It seemed to me that meant that anything done in AE would be done
last. He also said that at the high end commercial level, AE got most of
its work doing bumpers, credits, opening title sequences and those
unchanging intro bits that start every serial TV show, rather than the main
content of a piece. I hope that contributes something to the intent of your
post.

This has got to be a simple issue, but I'm just not sure what direction to
go in. Been running 6.5 for a couple of years & recently jumped into After
Effects. Everything is going well w/AE by itself but I'm at a bit of a
loss as to working AP & AE together. I can design a logo in Photoshop, get
it into AE, effect it & render it back out to 6.5 just fine, but where I
run into a question is with the work flow when it comes to processing an
edited piece of video in AE. I turned a 1 minute piece (from 6.5) into an
avi file, imported that & put some lense flares to it, and it worked great,
but obviously I can't re edit the video or audio once it's flattened.

Could someone just point me in the right direction? Once I know the basic
work flow I should be able to put it all together... I just need a very
basic outline.

Thanks!!!
