We had a very good time on the second taping.. I had 3 people to show up and 'crew' for me. I told them about the outtakes I included in the first one, and of course, they all wanted to do one.. the girls came up with the idea for the brief skit at the end.. I was like, sure, go ahead.. It was real fun.. and I do try to enjoy the ride. The simon thing, you're right, of course, and I try to be kind with my criticisms, and also when I try to explain what I want for the show. Devan's a great young lady.. professional, fun, and approachable. I just want to have a back up (or 3) for her.. thanks again Frank

Frank, what comes across to me most powerfully is that you're doing it. SNIP And he is doing 90 per cent of it himself. I've worked productions like this before, and if they stem from the right creative impulses then the small details of production values usually smooth themselves out. Key thing to remember is to have fun and not take it too serious, and the talent needs to remember that, on television, everything is a "bit", and it extends only as far as the bit and they need to differentiate between "bits" and reality just as much as the viewer does. No place for divas in this business. The slightest indication in that direction, give em the Simon treatment and send em packing. Having said that, we cant all BE Simon so make your words sweet and easy to chew in case you find yourself eating them later on. The person I see as the most relaxed on television these days in Jimmy Kimmel, and while not everyone has his personality, we can all take a cue from him by not taking ourselves too seriously.
