Hi, this topic questions the "burn speed setting" on burning a DVD or CD.
********** My Question **********

Has anyone seen information suggesting that a lower and slower burn
speed (eg. 1X instead of 8X) might produce a better and longer lasting
imprint on the disk's dyes resulting in a longer lasting and more
reliable recording?

I'm asking it because, a musician was discussing burning CD's at
differing speeds, some for the band and to give away, others for
masters or archive. He suggested that the faster burn speed gave less
reliability and more problems. Slow speed gave more energy to burn the
spots on the disks. So, I decided to bring my question to the pros, you.
