I don't know your camera, but my Panasonic AG-HVX200 can shoot in 480i/p,
720p_24/60f (variable) and 1080i/p. I'm assuming your HDV camera
could/would do somewhat the same. Could be that you've shot in 480i mode
and are viewing it in 1440x1080i (HDV's common HD mode). Check your
settings, but the small frame size on your timeline tells all. Right-click
the clip and select 'properties' and it will tell you the native size of
the clip.

How do I know if I shot in 720p ? I thought I shot in HDV...
