Hi Kent:
I agree that a tape export in High Def is probably the way to go for
your TV station (talk to the Producer about formats). From my
experience with the Movie Theaters there may be another option, you
might just dump it to an external drive and let them dump the whole
thing onto their server.
Failure to recognize the camera for Export to tape. VERY common problem.
1) Don't expect it to work with 24P
2) Make sure that both computer and Camera are in HD mode. It is just
like a camera to switch sides on its own without warning.
I wound up editing on Premier, and then exporting to tape with another
Mac Product (before I went CS3). By the way it takes a really really
long time to encode prior to exporting to tape.
So, my recommendation is that you deliver the uncompressed AVI or MOV
file in HD on an external Hard drive.
