Hi,

I'm having a computer built for me I need some advice so I can have
the best components used within my anticipated price range.

I have read this whole thread and I use Premiere primarily to edit
Mini DV Video. I'm not exactly grasping the whole ideas discussed but
I do have some related questions.

1) The wikipedia article says that since 2004 the PCI Express is the
newer technology so does that mean that AGP is NOT something I would
expect to find on a newer Motherboard?

2) If indeed I can expect to find a PCI Express slot available then am
I understanding that there is a totally different type of Video Card
that I need to be looking at other than those suggested in later posts
to this thread: EVGA and PNY etc.? What cards have you with PCI
Express slots used with good success?

3) I'm understanding that I'll need a Video Card for "viewing" and
"possibly" another card that "possibly" can assist me in the actual
editing of Video. If this is correct? Then I expect I'll be spending
somewhere in the vicinity of $100 or somewhat more for the Video Card
but is there an "ADDITIONAL" card that I can purchase that will give
me a more pleasant editing experience BUT still stay in the $300 or
less price range? If so what would you recommend?

Your recommendations would be very welcome,

thanks much,

few boards for people who like to cut holes in the case and install
lights.
