An error in my previous post - some settings I said were done in Encore (setting 16x9 and VBR) are actually done in Premiere Pro. Encore actually does most things correctly by default.
Your paragraph (shown below) may have happened because of the project settings. Remember to create a project with the correct parameters before importing the first file. In your case the project should be 1440x1080 pixel ratio of 1.33, 16x9, and I don't know whether they are interlaced or progressive files since I don't know what hv30 are. Just a guess, of course.
