Thanks Lee In the meantime I remembered (and that at nearly 68 is a miracle on its own, ha,ha) that some time ago I got some cables not knowing what they were for. Had a look in my box in which I keep all kinds of different cables which I have collected over the years of all different systems I have lived through. I found a SATA cable with a plug to fit a socket on the MB and an I/O connector bracket with an eSATA socket at the other end, just like the figure on the website. It is a cable only without circuitry so at the I/O side I would still only have a SATA socket. *Is that correct?* I would like to get an eSATA cable to connect my external drive to it. Before I do so I would appreciate it if somebody could tell me whether the connection would be hot pluggable or not. Can only find on the internet that eSATA is hot pluggable but nothing about SATA.
