If that is the way you're leaning, then why not go for it? Regarding Elements, I haven't read anywhere that there is an upgrade path nor that projects are compatible between the two. I have no way of knowing whether I am wrong, but supposing they are not compatible - decide whether it matters to you.
You could spend $2000 on a camera and another $2000 for tripods, heads, and lights, another chunk for the Adobe Suite. Sadly, there is no end to spending opportunities! Here's a question: If I do Elements now, will it "upgrade" to Premiere Pro, or are these two completely separate and unrelated pieces of software? It just makes me "tingle" (lol) thinking that I could maybe take my $2000, and but $1900 into a better camera and only $100 into the software instead of $1200 into the camera and $800 into the software (Premiere only).
