Bob writes "Is there a way to, by default, not include an alpha channel?"

Save it as a BMP or a PNG. Neither is a lossy format, unlike JPG, so
you won't lose anything. Don't save your frames as JPG -- that format
is lossy.

If, however, you've already exported a bunch of frames in TIF format,
then whatever application you're feeding the TIFs back INTO can
probably be programmed to ignore incoming alpha channels as a
preference.

Cheers,

Edward
