Usually, installing most software in 64 bit mode will install both the 32 and 64 bit variants into the relevant folders, so backward compatibility is available for 32 bit programs. Seems like a downfall in compatibility is in force here. Ask Ben G to look into CS5/CS4 API's or whatever to correct the problem and make them talk once again.
>From my limited knowledge of programming and helping developers, this seems to be a problem many of them seem to overlook in this 64 bit world. (Sometimes it down to pure copyright, others it's a misunderstanding.) Not sure if there is a 'bug log' available in any Adobe software, especially when third party software is in use. If Ben knows his stuff, he should be able to determine this problem with a simple program that logs all the issues. B. CP does not give an indication which one has been installed. One would assume that in a 64bit operating system the 64bit version would be installed. I previously used the manual installer from the same website which worked fine with 32bit. The manual installation for 64bit has to be done differently to 32bit (as explained in a read me file that comes with the installer) but I could not figure out how it is done. I sent a mail to Ben Greenwood who developed the codec. His only suggestion was to run the setup. exe as "Administrator", which I did - no difference. Will ask him to tell me how I can ensure that I have in fact installed the 64bit version.
