The Premiere 6.0 import dialogue says the following types are supported:

.psq .ptl .flc .avi .gif .dv .flm .mpg  ,mov ,eps ,bmp ,eps .jpg .pct 
.pcx psd tga tif wmf aif mp3 and wav
