I think USB3 is faster than FireWire2 and I do all my video editing 
on external FW2 drives and never have a speed issue. The only thing 
that causes delays sometimes is hwen the drives went asleep and have 
to start spinning again. Even though I turned that off in my Apple 
tkey keep doing it.
