Yes that's right, it's called flanging, not phasing. Later they
invented the electronic flanger effect box, Jimi Hendrix was probably
one of the first musicians using it (he was famous for buying
everything that came out especially effect boxes).

I'm curious about the new Sony 35mm camcorders, some are cheap and
may have genlocks and may have better image quality than the AF101. I
haven't had any time to lookup samples on Vimeo etc.

I haven't tried any of the hacks yet, I read about it a little on
DVXuser forum, it's a very interesting development.

Yes that was my third reason for prefering the GH2 over the AF101.

I use these two lenses too and I really like them. Very small and
light, good image quality, good bokeh, and the AF works very well.
I've also used the GH1 and GH2 with the Tokina 11-16 and 25mm and
50mm Zeiss primes (using a Nikon/MFT adapter) and image quality
wasn't better, the Zeiss lenses are very heavy and having to control
focus and aperture using the manual rings all the time didn't make
things easier either. I hope Panasonic will come with an 11mm pancake soon.
