I5 usually are 2 cores and i7 has 4. From what I've learned when putting my computers together, i7 does a better job with processing speed.
As for hard drive go with 7200rpm they are way better and faster than the. 5400rpm especially for hd editing. Graphic cards wise, I never see a much need more than 1g ram in the card, maybe I'm wrong. An NVidia is more compatible than the ATI ones Get at least 3 HD: one for program only which can be about 500gb, one is for scratch disk, 1T and one for the video, 1T or higher. Memory wise, go at least 12 gb of RAM I did notice an increase of speed with premier and AE when I jumped from 8 gb to 12gb Windows 7 ultimate or pro instead of home. 64bit. ----------------------------------------- Sent via iPad 2 Johnny Wu www.mdifilm.com www.clevelandasianfestival.org www.smarterthinking.com www.ocagc.org O: 216.539.4634 On Nov 26, 2011, at 7:02 PM, "cr8dbygod" <[email protected]> wrote: > > Thanks for your input. > > I wonder if anyone can briefly share their thoughts on the difference > with the i5 vs i7 processors? > > I currently have a 500 gb hd that is almost full so size is important to > me here. I thought of going with 1TB (2-500 gb 7200 rpm) or 2TB (2-1TB > 5400 rpm). I would imagine there is a benefit with choosing the 7200 > rpm over 5400. > > NVIDIA or Radeon graphics card?
