I can't say for these particular versions absolutely. Normally opening a 
project from an earlier version is not a problem. In this case the person who 
has the 5.0 version may have some issues opening the project. This is less 
likely if you are not using features unique to the new version. If you have any 
issues there is a work around. Save your file as FCP xml file. All your basic 
edits will be fine some features may be not work but for the most part it will 
be fine.
