Esther, welcome top the group. You're right...it is a lot of fun. If your
learning path follows what I'd call the normal curve, you'll find that the
first big frustration will be the inherent speed limitations common to
consumer video editing packages. That's why, at least I think, many of us
here move to the professional packages...they are just a lot faster as they
are designed to use modern hardware (multiple CPU and more importantly
GPUs)  in a more efficient manner. But I love being able to take decent
video output and make it into something that is at least close to being
professional. The Vixia you have is a very good camera indeed.
