Offhand, best bet is probably to do a mksysb backup (making sure that device drivers for both boxes exists, among other key gotchas) and then a mksysb install from that image. You can't just do a normal file backup and then restore because there are a bunch of system specific stuff such as the ODM entries, installed filesets, etc. Even more critical to get it right when SP and non-SP is concerned. I haven't personally done that with our SP and non-SP nodes as you describe, so that's about all I can suggest from what I've heard from others who has done similar things in the past.
