Kerry - First, use a Subject line, to track posting threads.
Second, refer to the Messages manual, or 'dsmc help', for the basic explanation of message meanings, which in this case tells you that it was 'dsmc sched' that itself was a background process, and because it is running in the background it can't prompt for the password it needs in order to proceed. Before you run any schedules, you need to perform a basic client- server interaction, like 'dsmc q sess', as root, to have the client password stored locally for it to be used automatically in schedules.
