Amazing! I had read in docs about increased performance if using collocation - and I understand that. I only have collocation on a few nodes here. But this means DRAMATIC performance increase?!
APAR says that it has to scan entire storage pool vol to see if it matches what is needed. This sounds like a design flaw to me. The TSM DB has what is where and whether active or not, why not just use that? That is what is done when a restore is done, right? If I did a restore of these nodes (I've had real experience here) it would not take near as long as the "GEN BACK" would. (I never finished them, just cancelled as was obviously taking too long.)
