solution is to run a full inventory from the web panels.

I noticed BTW that with ALMS enabled on a 3584, that in some rare occasions, 
TSM would still not be able to see the tape. In that case, eject the tape from 
the lib using the library panels, and then check it in again using the TSM 
command checkin libvol.
