Well, the GNU tools represent the state of UNIX from the beginning of the
1990s. The Solaris /usr/bin includes support for the features of UNIX
from y 2000+
Linux folks are strange to understand. Most of them prefer e.g. GNU tar
before star although GNU tar does not implement a single Linux specific
feature while star does have many Linux specific features.
For the same reason, it is most unlikely that GNU chmod/ls/... will add ACL
support. Using /usr/gnu/bin in front of the default PATH thus artificially
moves core OpenSolaris features out of the visibility of new users.
