This actually applies to me too but since Jim has mentioned that new
groups do have voting rights it's cool as I was a bit eagerly early to
jump into the voting pool :-)

Thanks to open thoughts and democracy!! Lot's of places and countries
could learn from us although won't mention names.... :-P

But point made Jim with minor groups such as mine really not knowing
where we stand and also if we're even contributing enough. I mean
whoever I speak to in Turkey about communities or even sponsorships
etc... it seems that the general overview is that life has become a
struggle to survive as in people looking for a solution to the day let
alone tomorrow and if not trying to earn money to put bread on the table
will be dealing with their families most of the time. Basically meaning
that no one out here will end up with a community spirit or even wanting
to devote time to something which isn't going to bring them any income.
This actually raises a lot of fears for me and my groups future but I'm
sure once I get my data center sorted out then people will be interested
to know and see what's going on before they start asking if it runs MS
Windows :-)
.... sorry for digressing but I think for many smaller groups in
'difficult' countries this is a major issue and needs to be addressed
somehow if not at least the concerns voiced. Anyway back the original
discussion:
