This is a bit problematic, in that if the goal is, as you say, 'no DRM product', then basically you are left with only three possible choices:
the *BSD's, public domain, or GNU/Linux Then as a practical matter it's still rather difficult to accomplish much without the use of the GNU tool chain (not necessarily totally impossible, just a lot more difficult). Which means that the logical thing is to just leave the GNU/Linux in place in your translation. Possibly ad something of your own (clearly stating that part is your own addition) talking about the *BSD's and or Public Domain. But to avoid DRM you would need to leave all Microsoft products out of it. As well as all Apple Computers --the Mac is as DRM laden as Microsoft. And, as an aside: Being 'stuck' to any platform because of 'games' is not accurate. Your addiction may cause you think you can not live without some Microsoft only game, but it does not make you 'stuck' with Microsoft --it makes you stuck on Microsoft. That's just to keep the logic of it straight. Don. ************************ On Saturday 05 May 2007 11:58 am, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Basically anything. Windows XP for ones that are stuck with Microsoft platforms for some reason (like games); I'd force some GNU/Linux OS on computer newbies (they'll get used to it); and server techs should try FreeBSD and compare the it's reliability and performance to Microsoft's products. IMO Vista is good (uh, can be acceptable) only for old and stupid people who don't know anything about computers. Whatever, just don't use Vista (or any other DRM product for that matter). That's it.
