Hello, You can retrieve an approximation of how much competition there is for particular keywords by making a KeywordToolService.getKeywordVariations() call and checking the advertiserCompetitionScale in the resulting KeywordVariation objects. You can specify the language and geo targeting options of your choice when calling getKeywordVariations().
That's the only Google-sanctioned way of determining that information that I know of.
