OK, I found V200906 SOAP examples from the June 2009 V200906 release on the code.google site at http://code.google.com/p/adwords-api-xml-samples/downloads/detail?name=awapi_xml_samples_4.0.0.tar.gz&can=2&q=
This seems to have what I was asking for, but I'm not sure if any of the more recent (V200909) releases require any changes to them? is this a library that is being maintained along with the client libraries?
