Why would Boris "even mention finding the best in its absolute objective
form?"
Because at any one moment in time, such an absolute objective form exists --
at least according to a certain school of thought, which would also tell us:
"The nature of art would then be this: the truth of beings setting itself to
work"
And then -- as time changes -- and there is a new truth setting itself to
work.
"Origin of the Work of Art" suggests that time can be broken into periods and
discussed/evaluated as such - but it does not suggest how these divisions of
time can best be made.
However, our concurrent discussion of "Artprice - the world database of art"
shows us where this approach will eventually lead.
Without some idea of qualities that are timeless, we end up with the question:
"what does it cost --- today!" --- and as William reminds us -- such
information can never be current enough for an artist who is keen to see the
value of his work increase.
Perhaps someday Artprice will be able to post new prices the instant they
occur -- just like the stock exchanges do.

>why would you even mention finding the best in its absolute objective
form?here we go again with the pre-existing singular entity...

>>It is impossible for human mind to find the best in its absoluteobjective
form. Too many simultaneous relativist parameters come to the play.
Existentially the best (morality is out)) is what happening Now or selected by
