We have an ARE for the Tacoma. It's OK at best. Having cabinets on the side is more storage, we still have most of the truck bed to use, and it has a really nice aluminum rack with a roller to make the ladder easy up/down. Quality is good, we've replaced that back lock a few times due to use/vandalism though and the aluminum fingers we replaced after 6 years due to wear.
If you have to have a truck, it's good. I'd strongly recommend a Ford Transit with the shelving over for installs though.
