The bulk is TV/radio advertising, which it is believed to be less and
less effective, but it still spent. There is also newspapers, and postal
flyers, staff, lawyers, consultants, polling. Russian trolls, Iranian
trolls, Chinese trolls. Breitbart trolls. Fox trolls. Middle earth trolls.
Trolls are generally cheap, but there are a lot of them.

I understand most goes to advertising. So that's like what, 6
networks/corporations. But I don't' remember hearing anything about
'Media company posts record profits this quarter' It's like the money
just disappears, never to be heard about again, and the poor media
companies are barely making ends meet.
