My bad, I thought the radio today said there was a recall. On the other hand,
it doesn’t sound like just China.

Yeah, those Chinese are abusive drivers. Not like Americans who drive like
little old ladies going to church on Sunday. Of course, if all the American
Tesla drivers are sleeping while the car drives itself, maybe it is true.

I had to look that up... apparently that recall only affects China (at least at
this point), and Tesla is blaming it on Chinese drivers abusing their cars...

I'm pretty sure Chuck has gone through several electric cars in that ten year
period, so it's not really that amazing, if you're getting a brand new car and
replacing it every few years.

Didn’t they just announce a recall for a fairly serious front end suspension
problem?

Chuck’s experience of no problems ever is amazing. My 2014 Subaru has
something like 118,000 miles on it and has had a couple wheel bearings replaced
(covered by extended warranty) and the front control arm bushings replaced.
Not sure being electric instead of gas would have prevented that. It also had
an exhaust hanger break, I guess that wouldn’t have happened with an electric
vehicle.

Oh, there was also a recall on the floormats because some people had an
uncontrolled acceleration problem and they couldn’t find a defect so they
blamed it on floormats bunching up. And there was some kind of recall where
they upgraded the engine firmware and checked for predetonation damage (didn’t
find any).

I consider these repairs routine for a car with >100,000 miles. Never a single
problem seems stellar.

How long did it take them to pickup the car, take it to the shop, fix it and
bring it back?

My BIL has a Tesla and has had door issues multiple times.

Every time it’s a several day wait for the truck to come pickup the vehicle.
Then a few more days to get it back.

He hates the thing.

I've had my 2013 Tesla for about a year and a half, and put about 30k miles on
it... In that time, I did have one issue (bad contactor in the battery pack),
but Tesla fixed it for free. Overall, it's been much less hassle to deal with
than any other vehicle I've owned.

I have been 100% electric for over 10 years. Never had a single mechanical or
electrical issue. Probably saved $25000 in gas n that time. No regrets.
