Doesn't work if I change the MT address to 169.254.1.3/24 either.
Packets go out, but don't come back.

unless I go directly from the MT.
Believe the Cambium default is 169.254.1.1/24 (255.255.255.0 netmask)
and your /16 (255.255.0.0) is broadcasting on the wrong address for the
radio to "see" you.
