I Used to have a nitro rc car. Was lots of fun because i liked fixing it. If you only budget 200 bux u will be disapointed. When i got out of it everything was going electric because is was faster and less "fiddling". I haven't read any reviews but the 1/16 erevo seems to meet your requirements. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEWPCBB&P=0 would take you a little over budget. You also didn't say weither you wanted a kit or a rtr. I would opt for the brushless version of it. But u might want to get an aftermarket after a bit anyway. BTW used to have a 1/10 nitro revo and it was awesome. Some of the older traxxas cars where junk though.

When I was into this stuff, the ultimate was having a gas powered RC truck/car, but I never had one :( HobbyTown USA 2061A Lincoln HighwaySt. Charles, IL 60174 https://www.google.com/maps/dir/''/hobby+town+st+charles+il/@41.8816195,-88.3344586,13z/data=!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x880f026f561d981b:0xc63b9d2e750c7157!2m2 !1d-88.338063!2d41.899515 On Mon, Dec 1, 2014 at 5:48 PM, Nate Burke via Af <af@afmug.com> wrote: For a long time I've wanted an RC car. Any pointers for a guy who just wants to run a car around sometimes? Some things I think I want, unless I'm told I'm wrong. 4wd Ability to cross sand/mud/shallow water (does this mean waterproof?) Won't break if it flips/crashes. 100 yard range. Rechargeable battery Anything specific to look for? Anything to stay away from? I'm hoping to keep this little endeavor around $200, that way I don't have to go through all the requisition forms and justification analysis with the wife. Nate
