i think we're probably mpls but it is fiber coming in... ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Hammett To: af@afmug.com Sent: Sunday, February 01, 2015 9:34 PM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] 25Mbps
Usually anything gig or less is using MPLS or CE. 10G is using waves. The former is more work than the latter. Anything through the telco will be breaking it off in your backside. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: "CBB - Jay Fuller" <par...@cyberbroadband.net> To: af@afmug.com Sent: Sunday, February 1, 2015 9:31:55 PM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] 25Mbps I was told upgrades had to be made to even offer us 1g Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Smartphone ----- Reply message ----- From: "Mike Hammett" <af...@ics-il.net> To: <af@afmug.com> Subject: [AFMUG] 25Mbps Date: Sun, Feb 1, 2015 8:40 PM Depending on where you're at, 10G isn't much more than 1G. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: "David Milholen" <dmilho...@wletc.com> To: af@afmug.com Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2015 4:38:02 PM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] 25Mbps Shoot for 10G and make em squirm to get you what you need. I predict the 1G dia we have now with one of our carriers is only going to last till the end of the year and we will be scrambling to get more. I just loaded up our first 3.65 AP with 45+ subs and no worries on it yet. Our 5Ghz Aps are not even breathing hard yet. My biggest issue is just closing the gaps in coverage and ensuring our backbone capacity is large enough to support the traffic. I am currently working a project with Level3 and Megapath to get us a 10G transport to Dallas. I have rallied 2 other wisps besides aristotle here in arkansas to also respond that are not members or are listed on any map. If you know any of your neighbors even if you dont like em I suggest making them aware of this issue.
