The difference is Monty Python and Austin Powers were funny. The preview
didn’t set the expectation that it was a parody. The execution was that it was
neither funny or clever. And Colin Firth was great which was a waste. The
training sessions were pretty good too. The rest of it, pretty much juvenile
and unfunny.

I cracked up when Obama’s head exploded. Once you catch on that this is a
parody of a bond film with a bit of Austin Powers and Monty Python thrown in it
changes how you view the thing.

It was the gross humor and language they really didn’t need to sink to. It
wasn’t funny and detracted from what could have been a good movie. You had
great actors, Colin Firth, Michael Caine, and a clever plot. The previews
didn’t mention that Seth Rogen consulted on the dialog which meant that is was
better for 12 year olds than adults. I expected more class.

And one section with special affects not only wasn’t funny, it was flat out
stupid. Airplane, great movie and clever. Kingsman, an embarrassment and a
waste of time. It’s not even worth the $1.50 at NetFlix when it gets there.

Next stop, Jupiter Rising.

Pretty close to the worst movie I’ve seen all year. My wife says I’ve lost my
movie picking privileges for a while. Very disappointing, great premise.
