Have any of you worked with an Itron collector for water meters before? They're 
sending mixed signals as to what they actually want from me. 

I ask what they need, they say public NAT. I say you want me to do the NAT and 
you receive a private address or you do the NAT and you receive a public 
address. They say, "Yeah, public NAT." 

Later when I decide I'll just move ahead and make sure they can be reachable 
when I'm on-site to plug it in, able to adjust, they ask for information so 
they can send down a new configuration to the unit. They ask for external IP 
address, gateway, mask, DNS servers. Okay, by asking for external IP address, I 
assume that means I'm doing the NAT for them, but then the gateway and mask of 
that address would be irrelevant. 

They seem to have no idea what they want or minimally are severely unable to 
convey their thoughts.
