Good point, tape is not tape is not tape.  The cheap crap you find on sale is 
way different than a 3M 33+ or 88T good quality tape.  They work when it is 
very cold and will stay there for  years.

I would just leave it. On most small towers we use super 33 tape to hold cat5 
to leg. 6 yrs in haven't seen a problem.
