Raspberry pi is cool. Almost a year ago I set up an older model pi (model B I think) to run our weather station. It runs headless; no monitor, no keyboard, no mouse. It's only connection is a USB for power, and ethernet. I think it burns about 2.5 watts. Ours uploads all the data to Wunderground, and I manage it through ssh.
