Yep, I do that frequently. Just point them up at the ceiling. I usually leave the power where it's coordinated and rarely see it hotter than -40 or so.

A local chemical company coordinated an 800 yard (really!?) 11GHz link. Their coordinated Rx was like -25dBm. Uh, OK. I forget what it was, maybe a PTP820.

Just don't forget to set the power as per your coordination when you are mounting / before you are trying to align.
