A move should not take longer to select than it takes to watch. From: Ken Hohhof Sent: Friday, January 27, 2017 4:23 PM To: af@afmug.com Subject: Re: [AFMUG] SlingTV
I click through the 500 channel wasteland and most of the time can’t find even one thing to watch/record, much less 16. I think that’s one reason for the popularity of streaming, there’s nothing left on broadcast. Although honestly I go through the “new releases” on Netflix and can’t find anything I really want to watch either. I had hoped that after the election and inauguration, it would be safe to watch the TV news again, but I was misinformed. They should just change the name from “News” to “Donald’s Tweets”. Seriously, there is no news to report other than what the Orange One tweeted today? I heard Mary Tyler Moore died. I assume DJT must have tweeted about it, or it wouldn’t have made the news. One went tits up for no apparent reason. And I think the tuner died on the other one. Nice concept, but garbage hardware. But really, one tuner isn't enough, especially for DVRing. I couldn't possibly live without the 16 sat tuners in my Hopper3 at home. I love that thing. On 1/27/2017 2:40 PM, ch...@wbmfg.com wrote: I think it does. One of the remotes does volume and I think it is the Tivo. Yes, they already have Netflix and other apps in the Tivo. Just add Directv Now or Sling and it would be a killer appliance. Does that Tivo RF remote also do IR to control TV volume? On Fri, Jan 27, 2017 at 2:25 PM, <ch...@wbmfg.com> wrote: That is what I use and I love it. I have heard the ChannelMaster sucks, and putting together a customer built unit is not for everyone. I've been using Roku3/VUE app. Works but there is much to be desired with the interface. Having no guide is killing me. Also, how are you getting local content? OTA antenna? I recorded a movie that was part way over and it didn’t go back and get the beginning, no big surprise but I was hoping. I still like DirecTV now better for a variety of reasons. I let PlaystationVUE expire.
