I remember when Doug Clark called them, they made him wish he had never called.

In your case, you weren’t the one making the complaint. As I recall it was
still a painful visit.

Does the FCC even care about 5Ghz if it isn’t something major like weather
radar interference?

I heard they were reduced in staff, so maybe they just show up for the big
stuff like that and license violations and perhaps vendor violations for 5GHz.

If you are totally squeaky clean. But I hear they have very sneaky ways to
write up even the cleanest company.

I would ask Doug Clark and Sterling Jacobsen before calling the FCC.

They always pick apart the person making the complaint first as a deterrent
from ever doing it again.

Paraphrased "Don't try to remove the spec form your neighbors eye with a log
in yours"

The FCC will look at everything you have. Check your gear three times before
you make that call. And all of it, not just the site you are complaining about.

So, 5his douchecanoe contacted one of our landlords recently. The
particular sight has been problematic for 5ghz lately. I'm familiar with the
prick. I dealt with his nonsense last week. I'm norma)y ass hole level good
steward of the spectrum, I never ever take more than I need even on the isp
side, I atpc where I can, I mount low where I can. I actually take this pretty
seriously, I even cost myself a long link to the new rules even though I'm
grandfathered, I'm spectrum ocd that way.

This asshole, I got called by a buddy who mismanaged his time with a ptp650
set on a two hop bank link. The best I could do was a team viewer. I took care
of the long link, which was locally shitty in 5.8. The license upgrade required
a more current firmware. Of course it was 5.4 and cac so 8 had the local dick
ride over to put it in 5.8 to come back up. This is a less than .1 mile link
mind you.

The entire 5.4 is -50s. 5.2/3 the same. Apparently prickfuck hasn't upgrade
has firmware enough to fuck 5.1 enough. I really only needed 10mhz of 5.1 to
match the long link capacity, so I went to a 40 mhz channel out of spite.

The shit bag causing the noise who is using massive spectrum on old
firmware or "test" channels (this is verified by the number of times I've dealt
with this prick second hand) is wanting to colicky with us. (He's a "cable"
provider) I suspect 8s some sort of ghetto multistage almost all transmit. He
has only talked to the boss not me. Said there is 160mhz, he'd be willing to
split 80x80 with us, which fully indicates this douchefucks capability.

I just want to tell the boss to let him on (we do have sweet contracts with
landlords that give us site ownership of spectrum) just so I can call the fcc
to get this prick some real fines. I do suspect he even hits weather radar, but
I don't know.

Who do we contact with the fcc to snitch? I never have been in a position
where there was as blatant of an abuse as this tool that it's something I
would ever have considered but now I just want to set him up to bust him.

On a side note he says he uses cambium gear that can use it 160mhz spectrum
in 5g, does such a beast exist?
