Nylocks... On top of the nuts... We had a panel that "blew through"
it's frame. That took about 95-110 knts sustained. It was an older
135 watt panel, and the 230 next to it made it through. I figure it
was a lot of how the wind was hitting things in front of the panel. We
now have superstrut mounted mid panels and mount horizontally instead of
vertically to keep the force from top to bottom lesser as the force
horizontally should be more uniform. We also went from 1/2 inch
superstrut supports to full 1 inch.
I'll bet a lot of the damage to the PV solar arrays were blown debris
failing the panel mounts more than the mounts themselves and of course
when they fail, you get more blown debris... Surviving panels probably
had some kind of relief from debris...

The wind built up some kind of sympathetic vibration, and about half of

in soft mud. Except for a couple of minor bends in the frame, it was
intact, and still functional. The second panel landed about 1/4 mile
away, and was almost completely disassembled. Quite a sight in retrospect.
