Let’s say I have a welder that looks like a dude.  And I want “him” to do a 
particular task.  Would I say to a supervisor “they need to do this task” 
rather than “he needs to do this task”.  Them clearly will not work.  (This is 
not totally academic, I did have a welder...)  Probably should not say have 
s/he do the task.  How do you pronounce that.   shuh hee
