I am just giving them enough credit to blame someone else... And enough fault that if it's provable that a simple setting change would fix it, then they shouldn't get paid... Which is pretty much all the time when it comes to Geek squad... I wouldn't let them set up a pair of speakers... & why I know Chuck had nothing for liability for them not fixing it.

Geek squad figure that out with settings? I think you're giving them too much credit...

I would let the customer know that in order to determine if he
should be paid by you for the Geek service call that he needs to let
you do a test to see if it is the MTU settings in the VPN and PPOE. If it turns out that it is fixable via settings in the VPN
software, then the customer should tell the Geek squad that they
should not charge and it's not your problem. Geek squad should have
figured it out with settings. Then if it's not that pay for Geek
squad. You get to learn something for your expense. But be sure
and specify that this is a one time deal...

        or

        Was it never working.

If the latter I'd say not a chance of reimbursement. They
should be super happy that their provider came up with a
solution for them that fast to work around what is most likely
        their faulty VPN setup.
