Millions allocated for linguistic diversity

Pallo Jordan, the arts and culture minister, says close to R70 million
will be spent on language programmes and activities that promote
linguistic diversity. Jordan was presenting his budget to the National
Assembly.

Financial resources will also be allocated to the work of Pan South
African Language Board. These resources will be utilised to translate
all documentation of all national government departments into the 11
official languages and a number of foreign official languages.
