Quick update:
* The Swahili Wikipedia now has >1000 articles (thanks to Ndesanjo
Macha for this info). See http://sw.wikipedia.org/
* There is a debate about the Akan Wikipedia, its relationship with
Twi Wikipedia etc., and whether to close it & turn it into a gateway
page to Twi etc. See Akan http://ak.wikipedia.org/
* The Ewe Wikipedia is also slated for possible deletion. I've argued
against that.

There's a conference on Wikipedia and related media called "Wikimania"
which will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, US on 4-6 August. It's
possible that some folks attending who are interested in promoting
African language Wikipedias will get together to discuss ideas &
strategies. For more info on the conference, see:

see a page *in* a language, as opposed to *about* it in English, you
will need to click on the 2 or 3 letter code in the "Wiki" column).
