i do not think i will understand much of that paper since i do not know
much mathematics, but questions based on the abstract:

1) [not actually a question] cool, qubits are cool imo
2) they define grammars to use to deconstruct sentences and derive
meaning. however, while languages do have grammars, there are usually lots
of words which do not follow the grammar specifically, right? like the
unofficial "i before e except after c", which of course has to do with
spelling and note semantics, but i wonder if similar problems exist in
sentence grammar as well.
3) [also not really a question] "DisCoCat" haha

i guess this is all tangentially related to another question i have that i
am apparently asking now:

why is NLP such a focus for AGI research? surely any set of symbols could
be used for an AGI to communicate with itself or others, although i guess
we might not understand it entirely.

i am also curious these days in the idea of self-generating models (jargon
from "machine learning" spaces), so then in the NLP space, maybe the
grammar could be generated from the text, but of course how do you generate
a grammar from text if the text doesn't yet have meaning provided by the
grammar? i do not know, but it is possible that i could find a solution
where i would not need to solve such a problem, but of course that is
getting into the <fuzzy hand wavy> sort of stuff xD at least until i
learn more
