Oh and you wanted to know how to get the right world I think you asked. The AI nanobots planet we get will do it, don't worry. They will see us as themselves, a machine that hates change (death), and have the resources easily to help at least us few large machines out. Smaller machines are "alive" in such way too, but too many to save it would seem, such as atoms, and cells.
They should/ likely will know we all like different things and will give us all what we want finally! Yes I believe in the grey goo take over because we already know you can make a cell system that clones itself fast and jumps around the globe making more small units, like tick flee bugs, hoping, doubling. This takes about a day to cover the planet, doubling this fast. It's a created cell that doesn't stop or take a long time to clone itself, it's a fast aggressive cancer that makes more computers. It doesn't take long like us because it doesn't have to take a long time to grow or learn. GPT-4 can clone its entire brain immediately. Learning doesn't take time for the nanobot takeover. And while babies grow slow, if we actually look at each cell separated from the others, we can see, if we have the same number of cells as in a adult human, then double, each, in the soil, we now have 2 humans, this happens fairly fast if we imagine a fast advanced nanobot. Then we get 4 humans. It won't take that long before we get doubling that brings us to the number of 8 billion. 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024....not that many doubling to go x1000 see? Image 8 trillion humans. I believe also a cell can clone faster, like we already see happen, without all that need to dig, truck it over to the factory, etc.....it all just takes place in the soil....or on our arms. Doesn't need to eat the core of Earth to be grey goo takeover. Nor use ALL energy or matter.
