Most people would prefer romantic relationships with real humans, but
sexbots are always available, never argue, and never refuse sex. Dating
apps have mostly replaced traditional ways of meeting people but have
become dysfunctional. Women are overwhelmed with requests and reject 95% of
them. Men who don't rate in the top 10% of attractiveness will probably
never get a date except with scam bots and fake accounts. Young people are
simply giving up on dating. The fraction of US high school seniors that
have ever had sex has dropped from 50% to 30% since the 1990s. In a recent
survey by Aella, 30% of girls and 11% of boys by birth identity as trans or
non binary at age 14. This fraction drops for older teens, so either they
are going through a phase, or more likely, it indicates an upward trend.

The problem is especially bad in the countries with the lowest fertility
rates. In Japan it is called "lying flat" where teens and young adults
refuse to leave their room. There is a "4B" movement by women in South
Korea: no dating, no marriage, no sex, and no children. Every developed
country in the world now has a fertility rate below 2 children per woman.
China is now losing population, surpassed by India, now with one child per
woman and falling, several years after dropping their one child policy. The
fastest growing region is central Africa, but even there the fertility rate
has dropped from 6 to 4 since the 1980s as the literacy rate for young
women has climbed above 50%.
