Matt, IMHO, I like the idea of reining in AI, but NOT the idea of making this a felony right at the start. They should start out treating it like overtime parking, and step-by-step increase the level to misdemeanor, then to gross misdemeanor, then to class C felony, etc., until the right level of enforcement is discovered. I don't see a problem with insisting that machines look like machines (or space aliens) in video, and talk like old fashioned speech synthesis devices.. There has already been some clever "human engineering" to automate scams by simulating police or bill collectors.
